Trip to Japan – Part 4
My time here is up soon. All the trips that I made here for last few years were bit tight but this time I had lots of time for rest and fellowship which was a real blessing. Thank you so much for sweet brethren for receiving and taking good care of me! Here is some misc. pics from Japan.
Here is my brother and me, at the entrance of “Yakiniku” restaurant during the New Year. I had to take photo of this huge but typical Japanese lady with Kimono.
Since I am working on my High blood pressure, I stayed away from beef and had lots of veggies, chicken, lamb chop and 0% beer. Those who don’t know about “Yakinku” restaurant, there is a grill on the table to cook different veggies and meat on your own. It is super yummy, like this:
Here is my parents :
My mother gave “Otoshidama” (Pocket money that children receive during New Year) to Katie, Kristy and Kimby.
Lena and Maria came to visit and there was a little party at the corner house. Later on more ladies joined the party and Elia was the only guy. It was fun but again I had to refrain from drinking and eating yummy snacks because of high blood pressure…..
Trip to Japan – Part 3
I was able to partake of this “Christmas Breakfast”. Evidently it has been a tradition of HCS for some years. There were all kinds of bread, pans, cakes, fran, hot chocolate, eggs, sausages, etc, etc…. It was very Christmassy experience!
Here is Mary carefully cutting the muffins so that everyone can have some…
Here is Eliya, digging into sausages saying “I am not into sweets so much….. “
Is it yummy, Mike?
Do you know what this meat is? It is “Inoshishi (Wild Pig)”! Wow, I never ate it before! Aiki’s brother went hunting at the local forest and caught it, heavy stuff! Reika made wonderful “Nabe (Pot Meal)” with it! Actually it was quite tasty.
It was Family Day on the 24th. I already had dinner but Kitano Family kindly invited me to their Family Crismas Dinner table. I shared wine with James and enjoyed the evening, thank you Kitano Family!!
Fun, fun, Christmas Cooking!! I helped Mary cooking for Christmas Dinner for 2 days. We made fudges, Cifone cake and banana cream pie on the 1st day. It was lots of work! Mary did more baking and cooking beside these 2 days…. GBH!
Personaly I liked the banana cream pie, it was sooooo good!
Nest day, we made tacos, salad, guacamole, salsa, and what not. It was great and everyone enjoyed it!
Beside what you see on the table, there was wonderful Gomoku Zushi by Hiromi, Chicken by Isamu, 3 kind of Jello by Naomi, Toitillas that Naomi worked hard all day, and all kinds of drinks and punches by Reika.
Here is one of Reika’s awesome looking drink with tequila.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
